Adjust the “Manage Schedules” Button Display Mode

Available In Product Schedules 2.188+

The “Manage Schedules” component includes a setting to modify the “Button Display Mode” when the component is open on an Opportunity.

This setting allows teams to adjust where the action buttons are displayed, which can be particularly helpful if you often create Opportunity Products with years of monthly Product Schedules and need to scroll through the records.

There are three “Button Display Mode” options:

  • Bottom
    • The “Save” and “Cancel” buttons are positioned at the bottom of the component, below the list of schedules.
  • Top
    • The “Save” and “Cancel” buttons are positioned at the top of the component, above the list of schedules.
  • Both
    • The “Save” and “Cancel” buttons are positioned at the top and the bottom of the component, both above and below the list of schedules.

Prerequisites:
Please ensure you have added the “GSP Manage Schedules” component to the Lightning Page, and the “GSP Product Schedules (Full Access)” Permission Set is assigned to the user making the change.

Steps to Complete

  1. Click on the “Setup” cog in the top right of Salesforce.
  2. Click on “Object Manager”, and navigate to “Opportunity”.
  3. Click on “Lightning Record Pages”, select the lightning record page you are actively using on Opportunities, and click “Edit”.
  4. Find and click the “GSP Manage Schedules” component within the lightning page.
    • If you have already added the “GSP Manage Schedules” component, a blank space will be visible in it’s place.
    • If you haven’t added the “GSP Manage Schedules” component, search for the component in the components search bar and drag it into the Lightning Page (we recommend adding it below the Opportunity Lightning Path).
  5. Once clicked, select the “Button Display Mode” setting in the right sidebar.
  6. Select the “Button Display Mode” option, and click “Save”.
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 for all Lightning Pages that are in use.

Outcomes

Once you have selected a “Button Display Mode” and saved the Lightning Page, the position of the action buttons on the “Manage Schedules” component will be updated immediately.

Important Consideration:
If you use multiple Lightning Pages (per record type, for example) you will need to repeat the steps for each page.

Troubleshooting

I can’t see the “GSP Manage Schedules” component on my page, where is it?
The “GSP Manage Schedules” component is represented as a transparent box in the Lightning Page editor. This is due to the default visibility it is assigned, which is adjusted by the “Manage Schedules” button.

Recommendation:
If you’re unsure, go to an Opportunity and click the “Manage Schedules” button. This will open the “Manage Schedules” component, showing you where it is positioned.
Can different users have different settings?
By default, no, this is a component wide selection. That said, there are some workarounds to achieve this.

Recommendation:
Create custom permissions for the different options, and add multiple “Manage Schedule” components to the Lightning Page. Using your custom permissions, filter the “Manage Schedule” components so that users can see the component that matches their custom permission. For example, users with the “Manage Schedule Bottom Buttons” permission can see the “Manage Schedule” component with “Button Display Mode” of “Bottom”.
